Tracking a smartphone is usually pretty easy. There are many different apps you can use. Usually people have a Google or Apple account. Iphone users have a Find My Iphone account. This is easy as you can find the phone’s location immediately. Find My Friends is where you can add friends and loved ones. They usually have to accept the invitation. If they don’t want to be found, you can actually grab their phone and install a tracking app without them knowing. This isn’t exactly legal, but you probably won’t go to jail for it either! All you have to do if you install an app on their phone that you don’t want them to know about is remove the icon from the home screen. Hide it in a folder.

If you want to pull out the big guns, you can use a reverse phone lookup service. Maybe you wonder who has been calling your loved one’s phone. Why won’t they tell you who it is? Is it just a robot call or is it something more? You don’t need to wonder any more with a reverse phone lookup service. Now, this is usually done with landlines, but sometimes cell phones are in the service.

5. Long-Term Tracking Apps

Some long-term tracking apps are used so you know where your loved ones are over time. Many times these apps even provide how fast their car is going, where all they have been and where the phone is at that very time. If you just want to track a phone for a few hours, you can use messaging apps like WhatsApp or Messenger. For long term, Life360 and Google Maps are popular. Remember if you want to track a phone right then and there, and you don’t have one of these apps, you can use a built-in mechanism like Android’s Find My Device or iPhone’s Find My iPhone.
